DIIRD's achievements
As the Victorian Government's lead agency for economic and regional development, the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) has a significant responsibility in achieving the Government's vision for a fair, sustainable and prosperous state. DIIRD works closely with businesses, other government agencies and the community to achieve the Government’s major economic development goals of increased investment, export and high-quality jobs.
In late 2006, the Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE) and Multimedia Victoria (MMV) were integrated into DIIRD. Their inclusion ensures DIIRD has a direct responsibility over innovation and skills in the state.
The Annual Report identifies strategic directions and key strategies for DIIRD and shows how it has performed in addressing each strategy.
