Regional Development Victoria (RDV) facilitates economic, infrastructure and community development to support a prosperous and growing provincial Victoria and a growing small business sector throughout the state.
Regional Development Victoria:
RDV works within the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) and with other Government departments to meet its key strategic objective supporting growth in provincial Victoria and in Victoria's small business sector.
RDV is headed by the Chief Executive, Regional Development Victoria and Deputy Secretary, DIIRD.

RDV's Chief Executive/Deputy Secretary DIIRD is responsible to the Minister for Regional and Rural Development and provides support and strategic advice to the Minister for Regional and Rural Development and the Minister for Small Business.
RDV's Chief Executive is also chair of the Regional Development Advisory Committee (RDAC). RDAC advises the Minister for Regional and Rural Development and the Government on matters relating to community and economic development and provides support in promoting and growing regional and rural Victoria.
RDV is structured to deliver a range of programs and initiatives to strengthen Victoria's regional economies, infrastructure, communities and small business sector through its five divisions: Delivery; Industry Investment; Infrastructure; Promotion and Development; and Small Business.
The Delivery division drives Government programs and services to support industry and business growth and acts as a conduit between government at all levels to promote regional development and small business. The Division delivers programs and services through 11 Victorian Business Centres located in metropolitan Melbourne and provincial Victoria.
Industry Investment delivers a range of business assistance services to: develop and facilitate investment; create jobs; and increase the number of innovative enterprises in provincial Victoria. The Division's activities focus on investment attraction, improving the international competitiveness of companies and enhancing Victoria’s export performance.
The Infrastructure Division, through the administration of the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund provides financial assistance for capital works relating to the economic and social development of regional Victoria.
Promotion and Development is responsible for rural and regional policy and strategy development. This area is also responsible for driving marketing and communications initiatives through Brand, Communications and Tourism. The Division focuses on identifying emerging trends and challenges for the sustained development of regional industries and communities.
Small Business provides and coordinated and accessible information to make it easier to start and operate a small business. The Division develops and advocates policies to promote small business and indigenous businesses, and delivers programs to grow the sectors in Victoria.
