Melbourne is the only Australian city invited to take part in the 2008 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and the only international city with a semi-permanent pavilion for the whole duration of the festival.
This prestigious event is being staged at Walt Disney World in Florida in September. It is the largest food and wine festival of its kind, featuring more than 2000 seminars, demonstrations and speciality events and expecting more than 1.3 million domestic US and international visitors.
This unparalleled access makes Epcot the perfect platform to promote Victoria's rich food and wine heritage and some of our world class chefs, winemakers, baristas and sommeliers.
The Victorian Government is providing $550,000 to market Melbourne and Victoria as a top food and wine destination to the Epcot global audience.
$450,000 will provided through Tourism Victoria to promote Victoria as the gourmet State at the Festival and $100,000 through Regional Development Victoria.
