Submitting a tender

The Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) advertises public tenders through the Composite Tender Advertisement in the Business Tenders section of the Herald Sun on Wednesday and on th Victorian Government Tenders System site.

Procurement policies

The information supplied by the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) outlines such things as:

• the different procurement methods available to a government department (open tendering, selective tendering, limited tendering with exemption from public or selective tendering, quotes for procurement valued up to and including $100,000)
• the key purchasing principles that each department must abide by (value for money, open and fair competition, accountability, risk management, and probity and transparency)
• the evaluation and selection policies (value for money, adopting a systematic evaluation regime, cost comparison, due diligence of the shortlisted tenderers)
