International Coordination
International Coordination Office (ICO) provides the means for Victoria's overseas-based agencies and organisations to work together, while retaining their autonomous functional and program management responsibilities and provides policy support for the Industry and Trade Division.
Primary responsibilities of the ICO include:
- Coordinating whole of Government international business
- Communicating the Government's key objectives and priorities, as set out in policy and in the annual Premier's Directive
- Monitoring trends in network activity and, where appropriate, assuming executive and managerial responsibility for running and coordinating elements of the network
- Advising the Government on major international developments impacting Victoria
- Establishing and operating an information management system of Victorian Government activities abroad
- Advising the Government on matters associated with the appointment and performance of the Commissioners for Victoria
- Creating and maintaining a reporting system on priorities and trends in resource commitments across Victoria's international network
- Coordinating the reporting of Ministerial international travel, including high level contacts and outcomes
