Industrial Relations

The Bracks Labor Government believes that Victorian workplaces should provide fair minimum employment rights, and respect an employee’s role as parents and family members as well as their role in the workplace.

Labor supports a balanced, cooperative approach that considers the views of businesses, workers and their unions.

Labor believes that every worker has the right to a fair safety net of wages and conditions, and a safe and healthy working environment free of discrimination where work of equal value is remunerated equally, regardless of the worker’s gender.

Current priorities are to protect work rights, family time and workplace safety, specifically to:

  • help working families to preserve their work rights
  • help parents be part of the workforce
  • provide better information and advice for business and workers

Mr Hulls started his career in law, working in legal aid and in private practice, becoming Federal Member for Kennedy in 1990 and then Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Victorian Opposition in 1993.
