About DIIRD

The Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) is the Victorian Government's lead agency for economic and regional development, and is instrumental in building an innovative state. The formation of the department reflects the increasing emphasis the government places on innovation as a key driver of future economic success.

Corporate Governance

Department structure

To achieve the Government's economic goals and strategic objectives, the department is divided into eleven organisational divisions. DIIRD also has an interest in eight other organisational bodies and Victoria's TAFE network.

2009-2012 Disability Action Plan

Diversity @ DIIRD has now launched the 2009-2012 Disability Action Plan. The plan establishes a set of principles which guide our work with people with disability.

Fair Payments for Small Business

The Victorian Government's 2002 Small Business election policy contained a commitment to introduce a fair payments clause into Government contracts to improve cash flow certainty for Victorian small and medium sized businesses.

Ministerial overseas travel

As part of his commitment to strengthen accountability in Victoria, the Premier committed to releasing quarterly reports that detail the costs and benefits associated with Ministerial overseas travel.
