20.10.09: $2.9 Million Helps Bushfire Communities Get Back To Work
Vital information assisting bushfire affected Victorians to get back to work, will be rolled out at community hubs in affected regions.
The Victorian Government helping bushfire affected communities to access information on its Back to Work support service.
Community hubs will receive free information packs outlining how the $2.9 million Back to Work program will help their return to the workforce.
In addition to the packs, Back to Work staff will be visiting fire affected communities, offering face-to-face support.
The support includes tips on job hunting, resume writing, preparing for interviews, follow-up support and where to find skills training.
The Back to Work information kits will roll out directly to community bushfire hubs over the coming weeks, as opposed to banking on residents having telephone or Internet access.
In addition to fire affected communities, retrenched workers or unemployed people across Victoria can also access Back to Work at any time by calling 1800 842 463 or visiting the Workforce Victoria website.
